Become Ordained
(Priestess / Priest Ordination Program)
Church of Magick has an ordination program that provides individuals with formal ordination and the full legal status of Wiccan clergy.
Important: Before considering applying for ordination, please read the Church of Magick's Membership Policy regarding Priestess / Priest, and the notice below.
The initial requirements are:
You must be over the age of 18, have an extensive understanding of Wicca, and at least a few years of solitary or coven practice.
You must have a reason why you need ordination.
Ordination is limited to Wiccans who align with Dragon Tradition. This does not mean that individuals must drop their current alignment. The Dragon Tradition alignment can be in addition to their current alignment providing it does not promote or allow satanism* or animal sacrifice*.
*NO EXCEPTIONS!
You should have already read "A New Walk Down an Old Path" and be comfortable with and knowledgeable of the beliefs of Dragon Tradition.
Application
When you meet these requirements, print the Ordainment Application, fill it out and mail it to Church of Magick with the appropriate donation () and the required proof of identification.
Elder's Review & Ordainment
On receipt of the application, an Elder with Church of Magick will contact you by phone and review the application with you. You will also be quizzed on your knowledge of Dragon Tradition. If the review goes well, your ordainment credentials as a Wiccan Priestess / Priest will be sent to your mailing address. If the Elder determines that you do not meet the requirements for ordination, you will be informed of such and the donation will be returned.
NOTICE: Becoming ordained as a Wiccan Priestess / Priest is not a toy nor is it intended to feed a hungry ego. Many people fail to realize that the title of Wiccan Priestess / Priest is a job description as a servant of the Wiccan faith. Church of Magick will not cheapen the validity of our religion by ordaining those unqualified or who do not intend such service.
If any person wishes to become ordained, it shall be for the right reasons or the application will be declined. Because of this, the ordination process is not fast, it is not easy. Any person truly wishing to become ordained for the right reasons should not fear this. Any seeking to become ordained for any other reasons need not apply.
