Modeil has its decalogue, which is a law to its Initiates. These are the Ten Commandments:
I. Creator is the Eternal, Omnipotent, Immutable WISDOM and Supreme INTELLIGENCE and Exhaustless Love.
You will, revere, and love The Creator!
You will honor Creator by practicing the virtues!
II. Your religion will be, to do good because it is a pleasure to you, and not merely because it is a duty.
That you may become the friend of the wise man, You will obey his precepts!
Your soul is immortal! You will do nothing to degrade it!
III. You will unceasingly war against vice!
You will not do unto others that which you would not wish them to do unto you!
You will be submissive to your fortunes, and keep burning the light of wisdom!
IV. You will honor your parents!
You will pay respect and homage to the aged!
You will instruct the young!
You will protect and defend infancy and innocence!
V. You will cherish your mate and your children!
You will love your country, and obey its laws!
VI. Your friend will be to you a second self!
Misfortune will not estrange you from your friends!
You will do for his memory whatever you would do for your friends, if your friends were living!
VII. You will avoid and flee from insincere friendships!
You will in everything refrain from excess!
You will fear to be the cause of a stain on your memory!
VIII. You will allow no passions to become your master!
You will make the passions of others profitable lessons to yourself!
You will not indulgent to error!
IX. You will hear much: You will speak little: You will act well!
You will forget injuries!
You will render good for evil!
You will not misuse either thy strength or thy superiority!
X. You will study to know Homo Sapien Sapien; that so that you may learn to know your self!
You will always seek after virtue!
You will be just!
You will avoid idleness!
But the great commandment of Modeil'ism is this: "A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another! If you say that you are in the light, and hate your family, remain still in the darkness."
